Natalia Jimenez has joined "La Voz Kids" as the first of the three coaches for the show.
The award-winning music star Natalia Jimenez will be on the second season of the network's highest-rated reality show, Telemundo Media announced in a press release. "Having the opportunity to join the 'La Voz Kids' team this season is incredible. There is nothing more rewarding for a singer than getting to help others with their craft. I can't wait to start the show and get to know the amazing group of kids," said Jimenez.
Vice President of Content Development, Non-Scripted at Telemundo, Daniel Cubillo, was thrilled about the announcement and stated, "Natalia brings to 'La Voz Kids' a fresh and young energy that will surely connect with the contestants and our audience. Her international experience, unique voice and charming personality, will add to the show a very special touch that we are sure will inspire and motivate the young contestants to give their best on the La Voz stage."
The new season is set to premiere in the spring of 2014 and it follows the success of the first season, which reached over 14.5 million total viewers. The show will feature the country's best young vocalists between the ages of 7 and 15 competing for a recording contract and a cash prize to support their education. This year it will be produced out of Universal Studios, Florida.
Jiménez is an award-winning singer born in Spain who became known as the lead vocalist of the Spanish pop band, La Quinta Estación. Based in Mexico for almost 10 years, the music group released four successful albums, traveled the world and won prestigious awards including Grammys, Latin Grammys and Premios Ondas. In pre-production for a 2014 release, Jimenez produced her first solo album with Emilio Estefan in 2011, quickly topping the iTunes music charts in its first week.
The first season of the "La Voz Kids" featured Paulina Rubio, Prince Royce, and Roberto Tapia.
