Singer Shakira will celebrate her first Christmas as a mother and said during the "Today Show" that footballer Gerard Piqué gave her the best gift she could ask for according to People en Español.
The show's host, Jenna Bush, daughter of former President George W. Bush, asked Shakira how she would celebrate Christmas now that she's a mother, to which the singer replied that it would be a very different Christmas to the ones she used to celebrate in her native Colombia.
"Christmas in Colombia is very different. You don't hear the traditional Christmas carols. We have covers of them but in the rhythms of merengue and salsa... But it's more about being with your family and spending time with your loved ones", Shakira said.
The Colombian said that thanks to her charity work she's found a great personal satisfaction that allows her to keep helping all the children in Colombia through her "Pies Descalzos" foundation.
She also said she hopes to educate her son so he can learn to trust other and love people just as she has for many years thanks to her artistic career.
"I love my career, I love music, but definitely helping children has been the most satisfactory and fulfilling thing in my life. But now, having Milan is definitely the inspiration to do more".
During last November, in an interview with Colombian media, Shakira spoke about the achievements Milan has had since he was born, showing great interest for music.
Milan is always with his mom during her work days in recording studios and doesn't like being away from her: the singer said that her son enjoys the music of Green Day, which might indicate he could develop a great musical talent by playing rock.
