Director Steve McQueen's "12 Years a Slave" has swept the Online Film Critics awards.
The movie took home the Best Picture of the year as well as well as Best Adapted Screenplay for John Ridley. Chiwetel Ejiofor took home the Lead Actor award while Lupita Nyong'o won the Best Supporting Actress accolade. Michael Fassbender took his second award for Best Supporting Actor.
"Gravity" also won a number of prizes including Best Director for Alfonso Cuaron, and Best Editing. Emanuel Lubezki continued sweeping the Best Cinematography award for his work in the film.
Spike Jonze saw yet another victory for Best Original Screenplay for his latest film "Her" while "The Act of Killing" continued sweeping the Best Documentary category.
"The Wind Rises" regained strength after losing several critics' groups to Disney's "Frozen" in the Animated Film category.
The Foreign Film award went to "Blue is the Warmest Color," continuing to make the Foreign Film category wide open for the Oscar race. "Blue is the Warmest Color" was not submitted by France as the official submission and therefore will not compete in the category at the Oscars.
The Best Actress race saw Cate Blanchett win for her performance in "Blue Jasmine." The actress has already won the majority of the precursors but she has not swept as most pundits expected at the beginning of the race.
Past Online Film Critics winners include "Argo," "The Tree of Life," "The Social Network," "The Hurt Locker," "Wall-E," "No Country For Old Men," and "A History of Violence."
