In a previous post, we recommended Love Actually for this year's Christmas movie-watching marathon. What's not to like about the romantic comedy/drama? You got 9 different stories playing in a single film that runs just a little over two hours. Plus, it's got a great ensemble of stars who can actually act (even Bilbo Baggins is in there too, playing a porn actor... Precious!).
Apparently, this Christmas-themed movie has a lot of fans and has received a lot of love from cinephiles. So much so that a sequel has been produced for the viewing pleasure for those clamoring for more. In fact, a trailer for Love Actually 2 is already out and steadily evolving into a viral phenomenon.
This comes as a surprise for many as there has been no pre-release whisperings of a follow up to the 2003 production, which was directed by Richard Curtis.
Well, judging by the trailer's origin, even the original director himself would be surprised about this supposed sequel. Curtis has not been involved in any form with the making of the second installment. Why? Because it's made by a clever, yet decidedly fervent and hardworking, fan.
The alleged sequel is actually a compilation of the lead stars' clips in their other roles in other movies. The parody takes on a very strange twist as it involves "battling zombies," magic, kidnapping, and a stint as an angry mall Santa. E! Online took the initiative of listing down the new roles portrayed by each character in the said trailer.
Mashable declared that the Love Actually 2 parody "proves that the original was perfect" and that a sequel "might ruin the magic of the first film."
The trailer only makes you want to go and watch that movie once and for all. Or if you have already seen it, press play for a second, third, or fourth helping. Just make sure you don't spoil the fun by telling your co-audiences what's going to happen next.
