Last month, Latinos Post speculated about the release date of Lebron James' newest Nike holiday kicks. We said it may be released "on or before Christmas day." But recent updates from Nikelebron.net places the actual launch date on December 26, 2013, a day AFTER Christmas. Which means you should be holding on to your Christmas money right until then.
Retailing at the same $200 price as the LeBron 11 "Akron vs. Miami" models, the limited edition sports footwear still follows the same shoe architecture and design, except for the color - think bright colored basketball kicks. Will NBA star LeBron James himself be seen wearing these in one of his games anytime after they're released?
Previous LeBron Christmas Edition colorways were done in that traditionally popular festive color, red. For model #11, things will be different - the shoes are decked out in a "Green Glow/Light Cromson-Arctic Green" shade, with reddish linings and trimmings, including Nike's distinctive "swoosh" logo.
The textile-based material used for the upper has graphic prints of snowflakes, which is a clear nod to the holiday season which inspired the shoe and is a departure from the usual plain uppers in past holiday iterations. The shade of green used is, thankfully, nowhere near the color of evergreen or the usual foliage you see outside your window. Rather, it's of a cool, minty hue aptly described as "green glow" - in keeping with Nike's use of cool color combinations and intensities in its other athletic shoe models.
So, mark your calendars and bookmark the Nike Store link so you don't miss getting a pair of the highly anticipated Nike LeBron XI Christmas Edition footwear on the day of reckoning. You may find these sold on eBay but they're usually sold with a considerably higher markup and with questionable origins.
