Pepe Reina continues to talk up his interest in moving to Barcelona.

The Spanish netminder was interested in making the move to Catalonia as early as this season, but his club Liverpool loaned him out to Napoli instead. He did note, however, that he would be interested in moving to Barcelona and becoming the replacement for Victor Valdes.

"Anyone lucky enough to play for Barca during their career should feel privileged," said Reina, according to Goal.com. "I had the good fortune of being able to play there and spent many happy years there so I would be happy to return but it's difficult to make any assumptions."

Reina was a member of Barcelona's youth ranks but never made it to the big club as the number one man.

"It's nice when a club like Barcelona is following you but I just want to do well with Napoli to bring joy to the people of Naples," he noted about his current situation in Italy. "I'm super happy here because I have been reunited with feelings I've been missing for a long time."

Valdes, who has been the franchise keeper for Barcelona over the last few years, has made it clear that he intends to leave the team at the end of the season. Barcelona has worked diligently to find an adequate replacement but has not had any luck up to this point.

"He can never be accused of a lack of professionalism at any time. He has given everything for Barca, he has won everything and - why not say it - has been the best goalkeeper in the history of Barca," said Reina of Valdes' imminent departure from Catalonia. "If he ends up leaving, people should be grateful for what Victor has given to the club."

While Reina would certainly be an adequate replacement, he is similar in age to Valdes and it is possible that he may not be the right fit for a Barcelona team that is slowly looking to include more youth.
