Sunderland and Chelsea will face off on Wednesday in the Premier League.

Chelsea is coming off a solid victory at home over Southampton and now sit in second place in the league. The match actually got off to a tense start for the Blues as they conceded a goal just 14 seconds into the match and found themselves constantly frustrated by a solid Southampton defense. Fortunately, the team got second half goals from Gary Cahill, John Terry and Demba Ba to not only avoid a disastrous defeat but also extend Mourinho's unbeaten streak at Stamford Bridge to 67 games.

Chelsea is just four points behind Arsenal for the top spot and will be facing the worst side in the entire league. Sunderland has just eight points in 13 matches and is in the first relegation spot.

Despite the record, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho believes that his opponents are better than the standings indicate.

''I was analyzing their match against Newcastle at home and Man City at home, these were the matches I focused on,'' the Portuguese manager said, according to ESPN. ''I think they are better than the points they have, the quality of their players is not comparable with some teams in that part of the table but I think they are in a moment where one point doesn't make a big difference.

''They need three points, they need two or three victories to get out of the dangerous area," he added. "I don't think they can play in a defensive way, that is why they have a positive approach because they need to win matches."

Sunderland is coming off a 0-0 draw with Aston Villa and has not won since a 1-0 victory over Manchester City on Nov. 10.

Prediction: Chelsea wins 1-0.
