Sony has released a new clip to "American Hustle."
The new clip highlights Jennifer Lawrence in a restaurant with Christian Bale and Jeremy Renner. The clip shows the excess of the lifestyle as well as the costumes and art direction.
The clip is the second that shows Lawrence and Bale. The company has yet to release any clips with Bradley Cooper or Amy Adams; it could be a potential Oscar campaign ploy to get Lawrence her third nomination.
The film has been receiving buzz throughout the season and while no one has seen it, Lawrence is on every Oscar pundit's list for a Best Supporting Actress nomination. The film is also receiving buzz for Best Picture, and other stars Cooper, Adams, Bale and Renner and director David O. Russell are also receiving buzz.
The movie has not been to any festivals, but Sony announced that the movie would be closing the Dubai Film Festival in December. The question that most pundits are asking is if it will be ready for the National Board of Review and New York Film Critics, which give out their awards before the film's release and premiere.
"American Hustle" tells the story of a con man, Irving Rosenfeld, who, along with his seductive British partner Sydney Prosser, is forced to work for a wild FBI agent Richie DiMaso. DiMaso pushes them into a world of Jersey powerbrokers and mafia.
"American Hustle" also stars Louis C.K., Robert de Niro, Alessandro Nivola, Elisabeth Rohm, Dawn Olivieri, Jack Huston and Michael Pena. The film will be released on Dec. 18 in limited-release and will expand on Dec. 20 nationwide.
