Is Radamel Falcao leaving Monaco in January? Chelsea and Real Madrid sure hope so.

Reports indicate that the Colombian superstar could be headed to one of those two giants in the January transfer window. According to Express, Chelsea is looking to secure the striker in the upcoming transfer window in order to fend off potential competition from Real Madrid.

Madrid was originally the only major player in on Falcao, but Chelsea has recently entered the race after Manager Jose Mourinho attended Colombia's friendly against Belgium last week. In that match, Falcao finished with the game winner after he broke free of the Belgian defense and rounded the keeper.

Chelsea is in dire need of striker as its current trio comprised of Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto'o and Demba Ba is failing to live up to expectations. Eto'o has scored two goals on the season while Torres remains stuck on one; Ba has yet to score all season long. Falcao is currently tied with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani for the scoring title in the French Ligue 1; all three have nine goals thus far.

Real Madrid may no longer have as much of a need for Falcao as previously thought. As many might know, Cristiano Ronaldo is currently playing the best soccer in the world and has 17 goals on the season. His teammate Karim Benzema has regained his scoring touch and has seven on the year while Gareth Bale has four goals and five assists in only eight Spanish League matches. Isco also has five goals for Madrid on the year; the team seems set offensively this season. Of course, Falcao did spend most of his career playing for Atletico Madrid of the Spanish League and would fit right into the pace of Madrid. He is a more consistent scorer than Benzema and could see his stats sore playing between Ronaldo and Bale.

Should Falcao leave Monaco? If he does, then should he go to Chelsea or Madrid?
