According to information published by El Nuevo Herald, celebrities were present to offer their condolences to Álvarez's family, and to mourn the actress, one of the most renowned villains in Mexican television.
AP reported on Saturday that celebrities expressed their surprise and regret when they head that the 41-year-old actress had died.
Although the official cause of death given is respiratory arrest, according to AP, Mexican tabloids have reported rumored that the actress suffered from alcoholism and that had been fighting bulimia for many years; those rumors have not been confirmed by her family.
