Family proved to be nothing but trouble on the latest "Hart of Dixie."
On the latest episode, Zoe (Rachel Bilson) decides she wants to get to know the Wilkes side of her family--mainly because Harley's (Zoe's biological father) cousin Winifred owns the house that Zoe and Joel (Josh Cooke) want to rent. She previously ignored all invitations from that side of her family due to her troubled familial past.
In addition to the potential house, she decides to reach out to them because she realizes (apparently from watching "Dolphin Tale" over and over), that "family is forever." She decides to crash the 8th birthday party of one of her little cousins, knowing that the whole family would be at the event. Although the plan is clearly shortsighted, Joel goes along with it.
Zoe starts to have doubts upon her arrival at the celebration. She lies to her cousin Vivian that Joel is a magician and is here to entertain the children, and says her name is Chloe. But as she starts to meet everyone, she begins to like the outgoing, loving family, so she decides to tell them her real identity. However, lying after being estranged for so long only strains her relationship with the Wilkes even further.
Meanwhile, the owner of Fancy's comes to the Rammer Jammer, saying he wants to sell it to Lemon (Jaime King). When Lemon tells Wade (Wilson Bethel) that she wants to purchase Fancy's, he tells her that he'll buy out her half of the Rammer Jammer so she can buy Fancy's and run it on her own.
But it turns out that Lemon's offer for Fancy's is too low, so the owner goes to another buyer. When Lemon comes back to Wade, asking if she can still be his partner, he says she will always have a place by his side.
As for Lavon (Cress Williams) and Annabeth (Kaitlyn Black), they experience their own set of family problems.
When Annabeth's family comes to visit, they are ecstatic to find out that their daughter is dating the mayor. They blatantly try to push the two to get engaged, which stirs up latent relationship issues. Annabeth wants to plan for her future, but Lavon thinks their relationship is just fine. The two aren't seeing eye to eye, which doesn't bode well for their future.
George (Scott Porter) also gives into Lynly's (Antoinette Robertson) manipulations, and they end up kissing.
On the next "Hart of Dixie," Wade begins to complicate Zoe and Joel's relationship.
The synopsis for the next episode, "I Run to You," reads: "Zoe (Rachel Bilson) beings to grow leery of how much time Joel (guest star Josh Cooke) and Wade (Wilson Bethel) hang out, especially when it begins to interfere with Joel's writing. Ready to blame it all on Wade, Zoe does her best to entice Joel back into writing. Lavon (Cress Williams) is using the excuse of coaching his track team to avoid talking to AnnaBeth (Kaitlyn Black). Meanwhile, Lemon (Jaime King) encourages Brick (Tim Matheson) to start dating again. George (Scott Porter) and Lynly (guest star Antoinette Robertson) discuss whether they want to talk to Lavon about their feelings for each other."
