Iran and Thailand will face off in the Asian Cup qualifiers on Friday.

The Iranians currently sit atop Group B with seven points while Thailand languishes in last place with zero points through three games.

Iran defeated Lebanon 5-0 in its opener before drawing 1-1 with Kuwait. In its most recent game, Iran defeated Thailand 2-1 despite being held scoreless at home for 67 minutes.

Thailand opened its tournament with a 3-1 loss against Kuwait. In its second game the team was torched by Lebanon 5-2.

Iran has a terrific history against Thailand as the nation has never lost a game against its foe in 13 tries. In fact, Iran holds a record of nine wins, four draws and no losses against Thailand. In that span, Thailand has only scored six times and has only scored once in its last six games against Iran. The most lopsided scoreline between these two sides came in 1984 when Iran managed a 5-0 victory.

Prediction: Thailand will be playing at home and could potentially gain a boost from the home crowd. However, the standings state everything there is to know about these two nations and how different they are. One is already a World Cup contender while the other continues to be a mediocre also-ran. Look for Iran to pull off a 2-0 win in this match.

Start Time: Kick-off gets underway at 7 a.m. EST.

The match will not be broadcast in the United States or online.
