After four years of no new albums, Puerto Rican rap group Calle 13 released a new single titled "#Multi_viral", in which they collaborated with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and the guitarist of American band Rage Against The Machine, Tom Morello.

The new single can be heard for free through various online platforms, so that as many people as possible can hear it. It was launched at 7 a.m. of Wednesday, November 13, Puerto RIco time.

Calle 13's new song denounces manipulation and censorship in the media, according to René Pérez, the band's vocalist, better known as "Residente" who told news agency EFE that to come up with the lyrics, he asked his Twitter followers to tweet about manipulation in the media, tweets that were then "manipulated" themselves to write the song.

"It's an universal theme, that right now is being heard thanks to this guy (Assange) and the people he has provided the truth to through his platform and those who have been collaborating with him", said "Visitante" (Eduardo Cabra), Residente's brother and one of the founding members of Calle 13, quoted by ABC.

Vistante, the musical producer for the new single, the first from Calle 13's new album, considered that #Multi_viral takes on "universal themes" which "everyone can appreciate".

The single released yesterday also features Israeli singer Kamilya Jubran, known for fusing Arabic melodies with electronic music and combative lyrics, and as mentioned previously, Tom Morello, guitarist for Rage Against The Machine.

One of the verses of the new single says: "badly told news is the same as armed robbery". While in other parts of the song, Calle 13 makes reference to social movements like Spanish 15M and Mexican #132.

"Who controls, who dominates, wants to get you sick to sell you medicine. And they drug us, make us dumb, any question we have they ignore. They're reheated lies, feed us with processed meat and people are still misinformed", says Calle 13 in its new single.
