Even though the most recent Nexus rumor indicates that Google might be working on a Nexus 8, pure Android fans are still waiting for a 2013 update to the Google Nexus 10. The latest rumors indicate that there still might be hope for a Google Nexus 10 2, possibly by the end of Nov.
Unveil and Release Date
The new Google Nexus 10 2 would be a top competitor to the new 9.7-inch iPad Air, if it is actually on its way. While Google remains mum on the Nexus 10 2, rumors are swirling that Google will unveil and release the 2013 build of the Google Nexus 10 at the same time, possibly right before Black Friday on Nov. 29, 2013. Google is known for unveiling its products at the same time as the gadgets' release date.
Manufactured By...
What could a Google Nexus 10 2 look like? For one, It's speculated that Google is sticking with ASUS to manufacture its new 10-inch tablet, after the success of ASUS's Nexus 7 2.
Processor
If correct, that means Samsung is out of the picture, so the Exynos chip will not be featured on the Nexus 10 2. While the smaller tablet featured a Snapdragon S4 Pro, rumor has it that the larger tablet will feature a Snapdragon 800 processor from Qualcomm.
This rumor seems a little tenuous, as Google usually opts for low cost, but it would certainly make the Nexus 10 2 an iPad Air competitor. The Snapdragon 800 is probably the most powerful Android processor on the market right now. No matter what (likely Qualcomm) processor in the Nexus 10 2, it will probably feature 2GB of RAM.
Display
While the iPad Air featured a pretty decent high resolution of 2048 x 1536p, Google is known for not skimping on the display in its tablets. It's rumored the Mountain View company will bring back the 2560 x 1600p 10.1-inch screen, which hits about 300 pixels per inch.
Camera
While large tablets don't really need a top-level camera on the back, the original Nexus 10 had a decent 5-megapixel shooter. It's likely to bring that back in the Nexus 10 2.
Storage
There is a possibility that Google could offer a bumped-up 64GB storage option, but the most likely storage options for the Google Nexus 10 2 look to be 16GB or 32GB. There will almost certainly be no microSD card slot again.
LTE Option
When the Nexus 7 2 was released, soon after, an LTE variant of the small tablet found its way to the Google Play Store. This is certainly a possibility for the Google Nexus 10 2.
OS
If the Nexus 10 2 is truly headed towards a release date, it certainly will feature Google's new Android 4.4 KitKat, which was released with the Nexus 5 smartphone.
Pricing
The prospective Google Nexus 10 2 is rumored to keep its variants around the same pricing options, if a little marked up. Last year, the Google Nexus 10 started at about $400 for the 16GB variant, going up to $499 for the 32GB storage option. This year, you could see a slight price jump of about $50 for each variant, with more for a possible LTE variant, but don't bet on iPad Air pricing.
