The Miss Universe Preliminary competition will take place on Nov. 9.
The competition will be streamed live on the pageant's official website and will feature the 86 contestants as they compete in the swimwear and evening gown competitions. The judges for the preliminary competition include Alicia Quarles, Corinne Nicolas, David Perozzi, Elena Semikina, Gabriel Rivera-Barraza, Irina Agalarova and Jose Sariego.
Among the contestants this year are two African beauties from Namibia and Nigeria. Namibia's contestant is 24-year-old Paulina Malulu. The health and skin care therapist is currently studying productivity. She wants to open a chain of spas in her native country and enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and crafting. Among her accomplishments are an award for Best Young Woman Entrepreneur and a job offer to become the first ever female tour guide for the Namibia Wildlife Records. She also founded the Dingi Community Program in 2010, which unifies and celebrates the talents of beauty queens.
Nigeria's Stephanie Okwu is only 19-years-old and is studying science and technology education. She is reportedly interested in motivational speaking, dancing and modeling. Okwu also has a passion for philanthropy and is helping the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency in preventing drug and alcohol abuse.
The telecast for Miss Universe will take place on Saturday, Nov. 9. Current Miss Universe Olivia Culpo will crown the winner. Judges for the telecast on Nov. 9 include Anne Vyalitsyna, Carole Alt, Chef Nobu, Farouk Shami, Italo Fontana, Marc Bouwer, Stephen Tyler and Tara Lipinski.
