One Direction has decided to take a trip down memory lane in the music video for their single "Story of my Life."
In the emotionally gripping video, Harry, Liam, Niall, Zayn, and Louis are seen developing childhood pictures in a dark room before those photos come to life, and they literally relive those moments with their family members.
The clever concept yields a few genuinely affecting moments, including when Niall Horan murmurs the chorus while standing next to his brother and when Louis Tomlinson pops up in a picture with his grandparents and great-grandparents, only to have his great-grandparents fade away when the picture enters the present.
In another touching moment, Zayn is seen with his younger sister whose hair is styled in pigtails to re-create a photo of the two as kids. Other notable moments in the video are when Niall flashes the most adorable smile as he looks at one of his childhood toys and a clip of Harry in a cute little robe.
One Direction just wrapped up their "Take Me Home" world tour with their last two shows in Tokyo, Japan on Nov. 2 and Nov. 3.
Next year, the English heartthrobs will be just as busy on another world tour while simultaneously recording their fourth studio album using a portable music studio.
"One Direction will travel with their own studio in tow when they play stadium dates. It's going to cost a few quid but then, considering the amount of cash they're making on the tour, they can afford it," a source told British newspaper The Sun. "The boys are all writing more and more themselves these days so it will allow them to develop as songwriters. Because of the shows across the globe they'll have no time out to record so this is the best way to get the fourth album done."
One Direction will be travelling to South America in April 2014 as part of their "Where We Are" tour, before they perform across Europe.
