Now that Grand Theft Auto 5's online mode has overcome its shaky post-launch period of game-breaking bugs, developer Rockstar can begin focusing on delivering new DLC for the game. Here's a preview of confirmed DLC for Grand Theft Auto Online.
The first DLC players can expect is the GTA Stimulus Package, which was originally promised in October. Those who logged into the online portion of the game during October qualified for this DLC, which gifts players $500,000 in in-game money in two separate packages as an apology for the game's initial problems. The content is expected to be released in early November, with Nov. 8 a possible release date for the cash.
Expected around the same time, the Beach Bum DLC for the game will be the first to give new items and missions to Grand Theft Auto Online players. The free upgrade will include several beach-themed weapons and missions, which will all take place in and around the beaches of Los Santos. The new content will not only affect regular missions, but will add new deathmatch, racing, and survival matches. Players will also have new character customization options to try out with the Beach Bum DLC.
The rest of the upcomning GTA5 online content is far more vague. Rockstar has not released many details about the DLC, besides to confirm what sort of features the DLC will include in the game. One of the features that will come to the online portion of the game is a stock market that will be similar to the one found in the single player portion of the game. Players can buy and sell stocks, try to make a profit and manipulate the price of stocks through illegal activities like destroying rival companies.
Other content updates for Grand Theft Auto Online will include a capture the flag match mode. Another update will put heists in the online portion of the game that will allow players to pull of these exciting missions cooperatively. Finally, a content creation mode will also eventually come to the game that will allow players to create their own maps for races or deathmatches.
