Arsenal and Liverpool will face off on Saturday in the English Premier League.

Arsenal currently sits atop the league table but holds a minimal lead over Liverpool; a victory for the Reds would put them back on top.

The main story of the game is likely to be the showdown between Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud and Liverpool's Luis Suarez. The latter was Arsenal's big summer target and the hope was that the Uruguayan would replace the Frenchman as the main scorer on the team. The deal never happened and a tremendous amount of drama ensued. Since then, both players have been terrific for their clubs.

Giroud was under tremendous fire as the year started but he has been consistent in his output thus far.

"Maybe I progressed [technically] because we have worked on it a lot in training," he told Arsenal's official website. "It is also down to confidence."

"I did well from the start of the season, I had good preparation with the team -- instead of last season when I wasn't here from the beginning -- and I scored early in the preseason games," he added. "I feel really confident, the boss made me feel good and that is why I feel good and try to improve every day. It is all about confidence I think."

Suarez has been equally efficient for his club despite claims that he wanted to leave. His coach Brendan Rodgers has been very happy to see Suarez playing at the top of his game despite the offseason drama.

"There's no greater stage for him than a club such as this. And once the window was shut, we never felt there was going to be any issue, because he's one of the hardest-working players, who is in love with football, that I've seen," said Rodgers, according to ESPN. "His appetite for the game is there, and I actually think he's maturing as a man as well. He's 26 years of age. He's a father of two now, and I think the maturity in his game and his personal life is there to see."

Prediction: Arsenal manages a 1-0 win at home.
