Real Madrid will look to build on a terrific win over Sevilla when it takes on Rayo Vallecano on Saturday.
Los Blancos erupted for seven goals against Sevilla at home in what turned out to be a 7-3 win. The star of the match was Gareth Bale, who was coming off a disappointing display in the Clasico last Saturday. Bale had two goals and two assists in the match and drew tremendous amounts of raves from the coaching staff.
"Tonight everyone saw the real Gareth," Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti said, according to ESPN. "He played really well, showing fantastic skills. It takes time [to adapt] but it was a necessity. Now he doesn't have problems physically and he is improving his confidence, so he will be very important for us in the future."
Regarding his team's overall performance, Ancelotti noted that their concentration flagged throughout.
"It was a bit of a crazy game, we started very well and were 3-0 up," Ancelotti said. "We then lost a bit of concentration and balance and the game was alive again. Offensively we played very well, we scored a lot of goals. We had a lot of good individual performances, especially up front."
Cristiano Ronaldo also scored three goals in the game while Karim Benzema put up two goals in the match.
Real Madrid currently sits behind Barcelona and Atletico Madrid in the race for the top spot in the league.
Rayo Vallecano is in 19th place in the league with only nine points thus far.
