While Microsoft is busy promoting the second-generation Surface tablets, the price for the original Surface with Windows RT encountered a price reduction.
As seen on the online Microsoft Store, the Surface with Windows RT's 64GB received a price reduction of $50.

The 64GB tablet had a listed price of $449, but with the $50 discount, the Surface with Windows RT will cost the consumer $399.
The $50 price cut was also added to the 64GB tablet with a black Touch Cover. For the Touch Cover package of the 64GB model Surface with Windows RT, the tablet will cost $449 instead of $499.
The 32GB model has a price tag of $349.
The Surface with Windows RT, which has been renamed simply as the Surface, sports 2GB of RAM while having a 10.6-inch screen with 1,366x768 pixels. The Surface tablet utilizes the NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor and can connect to Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth version 4.0. The Surface has a front-and-rear-facing camera with 720p HD.
The price cut for the original Surface coincides with the release of the second-generation tablets, Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2.
The second-generation Surface tablets launched on Oct. 22 across Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and United States. China, meanwhile, will get to see the tablets by early November.
As seen on the online Microsoft Store, the Surface 2's 32GB model is priced at $449 while the 64GB has a price tag of $549. The Surface Pro 2's 64GB model will cost the consumer $899. The 128GB model is priced at $999. The 256GB and 512GB are priced at $1,299 and $1,799, respectively.
