Roger Federer and Juan Martin Del Potro will clash again in the final of the ATP Swiss Indoors for the second straight year. Unlike the previous years, the Argentine enters the championship match this time as the favorite while the Swiss Master looks to get the job done this time after a miserable year of tennis.

Road To The Finals

Facing the possibility of missing the ATP Tour Finals for the first time in over a decade, Federer delivered a solid performance at his backyard tournament. The Swiss kicked things off with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Adrian Mannarino of France and then followed it up with gutsy 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 win over Dennis Istomin in the second round.

Federer met for the first time and conquered up and coming star Grigor Dimitrov, beating the man called 'Baby Fed' 6-3, 7-6 in the quarterfinals. He then booked his spot in the finals with another hard-earned win against Vasek Pospisil 6-3, 6-7, 7-5.

Meanwhile, Del Potro received the first seed in the tournament and steamrolled to dominantly win through the first three rounds before a tough semis encounter with Édouard Roger-Vasselin.

The Argentine defeated Swiss entry Henri Laaksonen 6-4, 6-4, Marcus Baghdatis 6-1, 6-2 and Paul-Henri Mathieu 6-4, 6-4. Del Potro dropped a set for the first time in the tournament against Roger-Vasselin but still came through with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 win.

Let's Do This One More Time

Federer and Del Potro met each other in last year's finals with the Argentine taking a 6-4, 6-7(5-7), 7-6(7-3) win to bag his first Basel Open title.

It has been a great year of all-around tennis for Del Potro, who made it to the semifinals of the Wimbledon Open. Federer, on the other hand, fizzled out in the second half of the season as he failed to reach the quarterfinals of the Wimbledon and US Open.

Federer holds a 13-4 head-to-head record over Del Potro, then again, the Argentine defeated the 17-time Grand Slam champion twice now since last year's finals encounter.
