Manchester United will look to improve its English Premier League record when it plays Stoke City on Saturday.

The reigning EPL champs are off to a woeful start in the 2013-14 season with a record of three wins, two draws and three losses in its first eight games of the season. The team is coming off a 1-0 win against Real Sociedad in the Champions League on Wednesday; the lone goal was an own goal by Inigo Martinez.

"We can work on a lot of things. There is still a way to go before we are really at our best. We haven't really been playing that badly but things haven't gone for us results-wise," said Michael Carrick according to ESPN. "Of course, we would love to score more goals. The good thing is we are creating the chances. We are making opportunities for ourselves. The attacking lads are looking dangerous. It is just not falling for them at certain times."

Fortunately, the team could get Robin Van Persie back. The striker leads the team with four goals this season.

"Robin has a good chance. He's had problems with his toes and a little bit with his groin as well, but I think he should be OK. He's had a little bit of training as well," said Manchester United manager David Moyes according to ESPN.

In his absence, Wayne Rooney has stepped up to be the team's top star.

Start Time: Kickoff starts at 10 a.m. EST
