The wedding is over. The bridesmaid dresses have been returned, the mess has been cleaned, and the happy couple, Booth and Brennan, are now forever tethered in holy matrimony. So where do we go from here? What’s next? After nine seasons of desperately waiting and yearning for the wedding of a lifetime, the future is unclear. Is there anything left to look forward to?

Of course there is. “Bones” producers are doing all they can to keep fans engaged. They have to follow the big episode with an even bigger episode. They know what’s at stake and they work hard to please.

In fact, series creator Hart Hanson and executive producer Stephen Nathan told TVLine that they’re currently “working on a half-dozen more traditional, non-event ‘Bones’ episodes” to air after the honeymoon episode, which airs November 4 and the bachelorette party, November 11. After that, they hope to reestablish the the show’s equilibrium.

“We front-loaded this season with [big episodes],” Hanson said. “So we’ll have a run of fun, lighter-hearted romantic-crimedy ‘Bones,’ and then we will start with a couple more event-type episodes,” which will presumably deal with the new serial killer villain who will fill the late Pelant’s criminal mastermind shoes.

So don’t get down. The beauty and majesty of the “Bones” wedding may have passed, but the horizon is bright. The show that you’ve grown to love over the past eight years is still here. The wedding was a nice distraction from the crime fighting, but let’s be honest, that’s why we started watching the show in the first place. So let’s get right back to it.
