Dynamo Kiev and FC Thun will face off in the Europa League on Thursday.
The Swiss side enters the match in second place in the group with three points in two matches. The squad won its opener 1-0 against Rapid Vienna before losing 2-1 against Racing Genk.
Meanwhile, Dynamo Kiev opened its tournament with a 1-0 loss against Genk and a 2-2 draw in Vienna; the Ukrainian team blew a 2-0 lead in that game.
A win from Dynamo Kiev would put them as high as second place and as low as third depending on the results in the game between Racing Genk and Rapid Vienna. A draw would maintain the status quo between the two sides and potentially push Kiev to last place if Vienna manages a win. A loss for Kiev would give Thun a five-point advantage over the Ukrainians. With the second match between these sides slated to take place in Switzerland, Kiev cannot afford to give away any points.
The two sides met in the 2005-06 Champions League second qualifying round. The sides drew 2-2 in the opening match in Kiev but Thun managed a 1-0 win at home and eliminated the Ukrainian side.
Prediction: The Ukrainian side is one of the top teams in the group and has not played up to standard just yet. Expect Dynamo Kiev to put on a strong performance in front of its home fans on Thursday and win 1-0.
