Manchester City will look to get back on track in the Champions league when it faces CSKA Moscow Wednesday.
City is coming off a much needed away win against West Ham United. The team has won just one game out of four away from home and had failed to win its first three away from the Ethiad Stadium.
"Of course we are worried about that," said Coach Manuel Pellegrini prior to the win, according to ESPN. "I think we deserve more points away the way we are playing but the reality says we have one point from nine so we need to win. Now we play four games in a row away so it is the best moment to win."
City will have to continue to win on the road against Moscow if it hopes to earn a spot in the UCL knockout rounds next spring. City started off well with a 3-0 win over Viktoria Plzen and many thought that the team had finally turned into a top contender. However, a match with Bayern Munich a few weeks later put things into perspective as the team was dismantled 3-1 by the defending Champions.
Moscow is coming off a 3-2 win against Plzen but was also demolished 3-0 by Munich. The winner of this matchup holds the advantage in the race for second place.
Prediction: Moscow is better than it has played thus far and will give Manchester City a big scare at home. However, the English team under Pellegrini should be good enough to pull off a second consecutive road win. Look for City to finish with a 2-1 win on Wednesday.
