Mistakes are inevitable. It’s nearly impossible to chase your dream without a few stumbles along the way. It’s how we learn, adapt and grow as humans. Without making mistakes, we’d never get anywhere. The same rings true for the world’s most revered geniuses of all time, and to prove it, Dr. Sheldon Cooper, from “The Big Bang Theory,” will share his own scientific follies.
In this week’s episode, “The Romance Resonance,” Sheldon pays the consequences for his ego trip. He realizes he’s made a terrible mistake with one of his scientific discoveries, in which he claimed to have found a new element, and wrestles with what to do next. Should he admit his error or revel in the praise of his peers? If it’s the “Big Bang Theory” that we’ve come to know and love, Sheldon will likely shield his social image but eventually break the news once the burden of hiding the truth becomes too much to bear, spawning another roommate “awe” moment, followed by a few laughs.
But Sheldon isn’t the only one hurting. Penny has to deal with her own issues. As the official episode synopsis reads, “Sheldon’s major scientific breakthrough makes him feel like a fraud. Meanwhile, Howard’s romantic gesture to Bernadette causes Penny to step up her game with Leonard.” It’s encouraging to see Howard step up to the plate, and hopefully his actions will inspire Penny and Leonard to move forward. “The Romance Resonance” will air Thursday, October 24 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
