The man, during the middle of packing, continues to carry a box into the basement when he sees an unsuspected figure - a zombie. The zombie attacks the man, but it turned out to be a cardboard cutout.

The girlfriend captures the moment with the Nokia Lumia 1020, which runs on Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 operating system.

The Windows commercial is based on the AMC show "The Walking Dead," and the Microsoft platform is helping promote the zombie-based television program by alerting Windows users to download the AMC Story Sync app.

The AMC Story Sync app provides Windows users to participate in snap polls, trivia, and exclusive video about "The Walking Dead" with fellow fans.

"The Walking Dead" premiered its fourth season on Oct. 13 with 16.1 million total viewers. Of the total viewers, 10.4 million were from the coveted 18-49 demographic.

"Sincere thanks to the fans, who have welcomed 'The Walking Dead' back for its fourth season with the highest-rated episode in the show's history," said AMC President Charlie Collier. "We could not be more proud of this show and everyone on both sides of the camera who work so hard to give life to this story of character, leadership and survival."

"The Walking Dead" airs Sundays at 9 p.m. EST.
