Another day, another “50 Shades of Grey” casting fiasco. With no clear end in sight, fans remain glued to their computer screens, yearning and wanting for their next Mr. Grey. After months and months of agonizing deliberation, Universal Studios and E. L. James finally came to a clear decision. Dakota Johnson and Charlie Hunnam would be the faces of Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey. Finally, fans could close the door on the unworldly casting chapter.
But no. Hunnam had to turn back the pages. Earlier this month, the “Sons of Anarchy” star backed out of his role, blaming scheduling conflicts. The throngs of fans leaving their underwear on his doorstep wasn’t enough to keep him around. Yes, that really happened. Fans were devastated. After months of hard work promoting their favorite Christian candidates and spending hours dwelling sensual daydreams, it was back to square one. Now here we are, amidst the throes of the “50 Shades” casting arena once again.
This week’s new inductee is none other than Clint Eastwood’s son, Scott Eastwood. He is currently one of the five actors on the list to replace Hunnam. Not only is he the son of one the most celebrated directors and actors of all time, but his work in NBC’s “Chicago Fire” proves that he’s got the talent and the looks to take on the sultry role.
On Tuesday, Scott tweeted, “What is all this talk about 50 shades of grey?? What do you all think?? Let me know.”
Well what do you think? Could Scott be our next Christian Grey? How does he stack up next to Hunnam or other fan favorites such as Matt Bomer or Henry Cavill? Producers hope to find a replacement within the next few weeks. Time is of the essence.
