Scotland will look for its first home win of the World Cup qualifiers when it takes on Croatia on Tuesday.
Both teams already sealed their respective fates in the group but both have something to play for. Croatia still needs to assure itself of a playoff spot while Scotland is looking to avoid ending its campaign without a home victory.
Scotland Coach Stuart McCall believes that Croatia could potentially start a number of bench players in its final games to avoid suspensions to key stars in the playoffs, but he has warned his players not to underestimate the quality of his opponents.
"As a manager you want to go into the play-offs on the back of a good result," said McCall about Croatia's mindset heading into the final game of qualifiers, according to The Telegraph. "There is no doubt about that. You want to be going into the play-offs on the back of a positive result."
Regarding the Croatians' yellow card situation, he added: "There are a lot of key individuals on yellow cards and if they were to pick another one up they would miss the first game of the play-offs... It depends on the individual. If you look at the likes of [Luka] Modric, you think, is he a hot-head? Is he sensible enough to think, 'I am not going to get myself in a situation?'"
Scotland defeated Croatia 1-0 in their previous meeting.
Prediction: Croatia wins 1-0.
Start Time: Kick-off starts at 3 p.m. EST
