The HTC One Max has long been speculated about, but now HTC has officially confirmed various specs for the device before the phablet begins to roll out in the second half of October. HTC confirmed that the device would be coming soon in an official press release, which can be read in full at BGR, as well as in a promotional trailer for the phablet which can be viewed below.

The announcement confirmed many of the HTC features that had been expected, such as HTC Sense 5.5 and the fingerprint scanner:

"HTC, a global leader in mobile innovation and design, today announced the HTC One max, a super-sized smartphone that brings the award-winning design, functionality and performance of the HTC One to fans of larger handsets. A new Fingerprint Scan feature takes convenience to a new level while acclaimed features including HTC BlinkFeedTM, HTC ZoeTM and HTC BoomSoundTM, combined with the new HTC Sense 5.5, which are all enhanced to continue to deliver the best overall smartphone experience, now on a larger screen," said HTC in a press release.

The CEO of HTC, Peter Chou, stated in the release that he believes that the HTC One Max will be the best device the company has put out yet due to it's size and power:

"The addition of the HTC One max means that we now have an HTC One phone for everyone. The family has been built on quality and game-changing innovations and the HTC One max is certainly no exception...The upgrade to HTC Sense 5.5 will provide our most amazing mobile experience yet, with the HTC One max delivering the size and power required to do everything you want, and more, without compromise."

The press release also confirmed the long-standing rumors about the specs for the HTC One Max. The chipset has been confirmed as being an 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor as opposed to the 800 processor that was sometimes attached to the device. The HTC One Max will have 2GB of RAM and will have either 16 or 32GB of internal memory. If users need more memory, the MicroSD card slot can expand the memory an additional 64GB.

The display for the device will be a 5.9-inch Full HD display, and players can use either the ultrapixel rear camera or the 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera to take pictures to show off on the display. The device will run on a 3300 mAh battery and will have Android 4.3 as the operating system.

It is unknown when the HTC One Max will appear in North America, but the device has already been seen with Verizon Wireless branding.
