Jennifer Lopez is not only an actress and singer, but also an entrepreneur as she launched a premium retailer during the summer for Latinos.
With over 50 million Latinos in the United States (U.S.), Lopez partnered with Verizon Wireless to created the premium provider known as Viva Movil.
According to a Nielson report, 63 percent of Americans own smartphones, and within that number, Latinos comprise of 75 percent of the statistic.

With Viva Movil, Lopez serves as founder and co-owner of the premium retailer along with Brightstar and Moorehead Communications. Brightstar serves as the world's largest company supporting the wireless telecommunications distribution services perspective and while Moorehead Communications is the premium Verizon dealer that has the most stores in the U.S. The two companies put together offers respective perspectives, experiences, and know the important areas in mobile business.
Even with the influence of Brightstar and Moorehead Communications, Lopez is very hands on when it comes to Viva Movil's services.
Lopez holds a bigger role and presence than regular celebrities who are simply a spokesperson or represent themselves as the face of a brand.
According to Viva Movil General Manager Miguel Montero, Lopez manages on how to make the mobile experience better particularly for the consumer.
Lopez looks over everything in the Viva Movil experience. Montero stated that Lopez has been vocal and focused on what to make Viva Movil different from others. She wanted to make the customer experience more interactive in order to ensure their needs are met. Montero noted a goal was to have the customer feel that Viva Movil is a place they can easily visit again.
Currently, Viva Movil stores have opened in New York City and Los Angeles and an expansion into Miami is set by December this year. A reason the three aforementioned cities were spotted was due to the Latino demographic in the areas.
Five Viva Movil stores are operational with three in Los Angeles and two in New York City. Montero noted by the end of 2013, an additional 18 stores will be open as Miami introduces its locations.
Viva Movil won't stop there as other cities are being considered such as Chicago, Houston, and Dallas due to their large concentration of Latinos.
The first Viva Movil store to open is the Flatbush location outside the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
The Flatbush Viva Movil location definitely caters technology and the family experience. The store has a station with Samsung Galaxy tablets for children to utilize while comfortable seating arrangements are offered for others as they either wait or are speaking with a specialist. The store also distinguishes itself with bilingual sales representatives and managers.
From Apple, BlackBerry, HTC, and Samsung, Viva Movil offers the latest smartphones the market has to offer.
Viva Movil also sells smartphone accessories created by Lopez such as skin cases for the iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, and Samsung Galaxy S4.
For Hispanic Heritage Month, Viva Movil has been active particularly in the Los Angeles market. One instance Viva Movil utilized the month was by sending its ambassadors in a Viva Movil vehicle in certain areas of the city. in promoting the premium retailer.
In New York City, Viva Movil ambassadors went on a grassroots level to show people how to active phones.
