Bachata King Romeo Santos guest appeared on Sesame Street on Thursday (Oct. 10) to participate in a sketch with Elmo, the Huffington Post reported. The Latin crooner interacted with the show's characters in both Spanish and English, and also sang a live version of "Quiero Ser Tu Amigo" ("I Want To Be Your Friend").
Santos was invited to celebrate October's Hispanic Heritage Month, like other artists before him, including Colombian singer and songwriter Juanes and Legendary Salsa diva, Celia Cruz.
The singer's latest hit, "Propuesta Indecente," ("Indecent Proposal") is currently No.1 on both the Billboard Latin Airplay and Hot Latin Songs. The song's is the first single off his new solo album "Fórmula Vol. 2," and it fuses two rhythms: Argentine tango and Dominican bachata.
The single's music video features Mexican actress and singer Eiza González, and was shot in different locations in Buenos Aires, Argentina. "Hello, they call me Romeo, pleasure meeting you," said Santos at the beginning of the song that was written by the singer himself.
Santos used to be the lead vocalist in the group "Aventura," with which he recorded nine albums and three live concert albums. In 2011, decided to start his solo music career and launched his first solo album, "Formula, Vol. 1," that included hit single "You." The song became a No.1 debut on the Hot Latin Songs and Tropical Songs charts.
Beside collaborating with artists like Usher and Lil' Wayne, the Bachata crooner also worked with Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias, with whom he released "Loco," a Spanish single off Iglesias' upcoming 10th studio album.
The "Loco" music video was shot at the Harvard and Stone bar in Los Angeles, according to E! Online. The clip features Puerto Rican actress, Roselyn Sanchez, who currently stars in Lifetime's "Devious Maids" and actor, Danny Trejo. It was directed by Yasha Malekzad.
In May, Santos released an album titled "The King Stays The King", which refers to an ongoing world tour he commenced in 2011 to promote his album. He kicked off his tour in New York and later traveled throughout North America, South America and Europe.
"The King Stays The King" topped the Latin Billboards and the Tropical albums charts. It also rose to number 65 on the Billboard 200.
