A replacement for Mexican actress Itatí Cantoral for the Jenni Rivera show has already been found, after Cantoral was fired for issues related to her tight schedule, according to information published by Diario on its website.
The producer of the show, Andrés Arreola, pointed out that his relationship with Itatí has not been affected by her departure from the show, and cleared up the rumors regarding Cantoral's alleged alcoholism, which was previously said to have caused her departure, according to TVNotas.
"My relationship with Itatí is good, we've known each other for many years but because I began this project using two film cameras, the schedules don't match and she has many commitments".
TVNotas claimed that Cantoral would constantly drink beer during the taping of the show and this caused her to be fired from the show after she herself announced she would play the late Diva of Banda. The same magazine published an image of the actress drinking between scenes.
El Diario shared the interview with Arreola in which he assured that Cantoral doesn't have an alcohol problem, clearing up the image spread by the Mexican magazine.
"I don't have any problem with her, in fact in the magazine where she's shown drinking, the images of her drinking are from a scene where the Jenni character is drinking a beer, but I never saw her do it in real life".
The role will now be played by Jacqueline Alcalá, who will act alongside with Damián Alcázar, Rodrigo Murray and Andrés Palacios in the show which will have to be re-shot from the start. "We had to re-shoot everything and that's why I invited Jacqueline. I had worked with Itatí in 'Mi Sueño Es Bailar' I can't say anything about her because she's a good friend and I'm sure that we'll work together again", Arreola said.
Alcalá is new talent from the state of Sonora, in northern Mexico and became famous after videos appeared on social networks of her singing like Jenni Rivera, which is why the producer sought her out and changed her look to give her the role of the Diva of Banda.
