More and more reports are rolling in about Apple's rumored next-gen lineup of MacBook Pros and if the latest turns out to be correct, all questions should be answered by the end of October. According to AllThingsD, the new 2013 Retina MacBook Pro with an Intel Haswell processor will be revealed Oct. 22.

AllThingsD's John Paczkowski reports that sources close to Apple have informed him that Apple will be holding an invite-only event Oct. 22 to show off new iPads. He adds that the sources indicate that Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks and the new MacBook Pros will also probably be an integral part of the announcement.

The Oct. 22 date isn't too far off previous estimates, which placed the new Retina Macbook Pros' release date around mid-to-late October. Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks recently went gold, prompting many to speculate that a MacBook Pro update was imminent, given that Apple tends to release a new toy along with major software updates (the iPads run iOS, a different Apple operating system, and the Apple iPhone 5S and 5C already helped kick off iOS 7).

Rumor has it that the new Retina MacBook Pro will come with Intel's new Haswell processor, which promises up to a 60 percent improvement over older chipsets. Other new features should include improved battery life, Thunderbolt 2, and the new Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks operating system. Some whispers even hint Apple may choose to include a 4K Ultra HD display onboard, but the chances of that happening are fairly slim.
