It’s superhero day. Tonight marks the return of The CW’s hit series “Arrow.” Stephen Amell’s Green Arrow will do his best to reunite his merry band of DC heroes in the wake of last season’s colossal set back, and as the final hours until the Season 2 premiere dwindle away, there are plenty of riveting details to keep fans satisfied.
For starters, fans should be prepared to see Oliver Queen change his approach to obtaining justice. They should expect “less of how he’s atoning for his father's sins and more about honoring the kind of man he wanted to be for Tommy,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told TVLine.
In Season 1, he played more of a hit man, whose “dark objective” served as his primary motivation. “This season, he throws the book away,” Kreisberg said. “It’s really about being an example and being a symbol.”
But change doesn’t come easy. As several new villains “have sprung up in the wake of either the vigilante’s absence or because of what he did,” Oliver will learn that some things are easier said than done. Oliver won’t be alone, however. He’ll have plenty of help from his formidable hero colleagues. Tonight’s premiere will feature Laurel as she lays out a hoodlum with style and grace. The premiere will reunite the majority of the show’s heroes, but it’s the final scenes that will have fans reeling for more.
Finally, for those eager to learn more about Amanda Waller and her role in A.R.G.U.S., TV Guide has you covered. "One of the things we'll be exploring is: What is this organization? What do they know? Who are they working with?" executive producer Marc Guggenheim said. "We've got a couple of surprises up our sleeves about that. We just started talking about something that actually won't come into play until Season 3, but is a pretty exciting way to use Amanda."
“Arrow” premieres tonight, October 9, on the CW.
