On "Once Upon a Time," Neal and Emma will soon be reunited, but it may be awhile before Neal steps foot in Neverland.
Members of the cast tweeted photos of Neal (Michael Raymond-James) in Neverland, but his road to the magical land will include a good deal of bumps.
"This show never seems to be short in the obstacles department," Raymond-James told TVLine. "It's one of those things where the answer to one problem usually leads to seven more problems that one needs to overcome. So there's some tough sledding ahead, I'll say that."
Does Emma (Jennifer Morrison) have any inkling that Neal is alive? Not exactly. Jennifer Morrison told TVLine, "They have no sense in Neverland what happened with Neal." As for Emma's intuition, "Because of everything she has been through - and especially having been through so much loss with Neal - for her own sanity, she has to assume that he is dead."
Although Neal may not reappear for awhile, viewers will get to see some romantic intrigue between two other characters. Regina (Lana Parrilla) will finally get a beau of her own. Although Parrilla would not share who her love interest is, she did drop a big hint.
In reference to her upcoming romantic storyline, Parrilla said, "I'm like, 'What?! I don't think she's kissed anyone in like 200 years.' Well, [except for] the Huntsman. But there is something coming up. And I will say: Regina has not met him. But maybe the audience has."
Meanwhile, Regina will just have to settle for getting in some intense skirmishes.
The next episode, titled "Lost Girl," will include flashbacks to when Charming's (Joshua Dallas) kiss awoke Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin). Of course, the Evil Queen (Lana Parrilla) does not take kindly to the news. New photos via TVLine show that the Evil Queen has a standoff with Snow and Charming, and Snow even swings a sword, with the Queen as her intended target.
Back in Neverland, there is a debate as to who will lead the gang through the treacherous jungle to find Henry. Someone obviously makes a bad call, because the group ends up coming face-to-face with Peter Pan and his Lost Boys.
At first, Captain Hook's (Colin O'Donoghue) familiarity with Neverland will prove helpful, but only for a little while. Hook will save Charming from a dangerous situation, and will quickly realize that Neverland has changed, and not for the better.
"Once Upon a Time" airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on ABC.
