Yet another leak concerning the HTC One Max has been released showing off another model of the yet-to-be-released device with a new combination of features and specs.
Chinese website ePrice released the leak, which shows the new HTC One Max model with a removable backplate as well as single microSD card slot for expanding the memory. These features have been seen before in previous leaks for the phablet device, but never together. Removable backplates for the HTC One Max have been seen with two SIM card slots, according to GSMArena, which is the closest previous model seen so far to this new model.
The specs are also reportedly slightly different in the leak for this new model of the HTC One Max, further indicating this leak is of a unique version of the phablet. The HTC One Max seen in the leak has a 5.7-inch screen as opposed to the 5.9-inch display that has been widely reported for the HTC One Max. In addition, the internal memory for the device is reported to be 16GB, as opposed to the 32GB of storage that has been attached to the phablet.
A possible explanation for this unique and different HTC One Max is that it could be a international version of the device. Smartphone and tablet creators usually modify their devices to fit different markets. For example, many devices meant for North America only have one SIM card slot, while other markets receive the same device with dual Sim card slots.
The HTC One Max is rumored to come out in October, with the general consensus for a release date sometime around Oct. 15 and Oct. 17. However, HTC has yet to confirm a release date for the device.
The phablet is rumored to have a Snapdragon 600 or 800 chipset, which many leaks leaning to Snapdragon 600 due to the high demand for the 800 processor from other smartphone and tablet companies. There is no word yet if and when service providers such as Verizon, Sprint, or AT&T will begin offering the HTC One Max.
