Has Elizabeth Olsen been cast as the Scarlett Witch in the upcoming "Avengers: Age of Ultron?" According to Nick Fury himself, the actress is slated to join the team of super heroes.
Variety reports that Samuel L. Jackson, who plays Fury in the Marvel cinematic universe, recently revealed to the Wall Street Journal that the production had added the actress.
"I don't think we begin shooting before March of next year," Jackson said. "I know we're shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms. [Elizabeth] Olsen, but I don't know what she's doing, if she's on the inside or the outside. I haven't seen a script," said Jackson.
Based on Jackson's comments it is clear that Olsen is in; however, the remainder of his statement is likely meant to stir up a number of questions. Rumors have indicated that Olsen was set to play the Scarlett Witch in the upcoming film. However, there is always the possibility that she joins the cast in another unknown role.
She previously hinted that she would do anything to work alongside Robert Downey Jr.; Downey Jr. plays Tony Stark (A.K.A. Iron Man) in the Marvel films.
"I would do anything with him," she said, according to Yahoo. "If he was part of a project and I could be in any scene with him, I would do it hands down. He's so talented. And so smart. You just don't have that kind of humor unless you're smart."
Disney and Marvel Studios have yet to confirm the casting choice, but if Jackson's statements hold up, Olsen will be join a star-studded cast that already includes James Spader, Downey Jr., Jackson, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans and Mark Ruffalo.
Joss Whedon is slated to the direct the film, which goes into production next month.
