Despite it’s earth shattering success and growing fan base, Netflix has remained tight lipped on the upcoming second season of “House of Cards.” Fans have been desperately clawing for an official premiere date as well as details regarding the political debauchery that’s bound to ensue. Why so quiet Netflix? It’s not fair. We need something to tide us over during these bitter autumn evenings.
Well now the wait is over, sort of. Although it’s not much to chew on, any detail that provide an inkling of what’s to come should be cherished. Sakina Jaffrey, who plays the all-business but sympathizing chief of staff Linda Vasquez, has broken the “House of Cards” silence and provided fans with a quick glimpse of what Season 2 has in store for her character.
In Season 1, Linda never stepped foot outside the White House, figuratively of course, but still, she spent a rather concerning amount of time cooped up behind white walls. But as the show moves forward, Jaffrey says her character will be tied down “in a different space.” Although it’s exciting to see her venture from the White House, unfortunately she won’t be getting the fresh air that she deserves.
“I don’t think [Linda’s] seen the light of day,” Jaffrey tells TVLine. “They don’t let her out much.”
Well there you have it. It’s not much, but it’s better than nothing. The Season 2 secrets are safe. And in terms of a premiere date, although Netflix has yet to announce its official debut, creator and executive producer Beau Willimon’s schedule is now filling up with other work, indicating that production on “House of Cards” Season 2 is close to finished. Things could be worse.
