The Teatro dell' Opera di Roma has announced its 2013-14 season.

Verdi's "Ernani" will open the season in a new production by Hugo de Ana. The opera is a co-production with the Sydney Opera House and will feature such luminaries as Francesco Meli, Ildar Abdrazakov, Ildebrando D'Arcangelo, Luca Salsi and Tatiana Serjan. Riccardo Muti will conduct the premiere, which opens in November.

Another highlight of the season will be Puccini's "Manon Lescaut," which will star Anna Netrebko in her role and house debut. It will also mark the first collaboration between Netrebko and Muti. The cast will also include Yusif Eyvazov and Simone Piazzola.

Emilo Sagi will also direct a new production of Bizet's "Carmen" with Anita Rashesvili and Aleksandrs Antonenko. It will also star Kyle Ketelson and Maria Argesta. Emmanuel Villaume will conduct the opera.

There will also be a new production of Verdi's "Rigoletto" starring Luca Salsi, Albina Shagimuratova and Giorgio Berrugi. Leo Muscato will direct the production with Renato Palumbo at the podium.

Other operas that will be included in the season are Donizetti's "L'Elisir d'Amore," and "Rossini's Maometto II."

Among the stars that will be present in the season include Marina Rebeka ("Maometto II"), Dimtry Korchak ("Maometto II"), Alex Esposito ("Maometto II"), Rosa Feola ("L'Elisir d'Amore"), Anna Pirozzi ("Ernani"), Simon Orfila ("Ernani") and Clementine Margaine ("Carmen").

The season will include performances of Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake," Prokfiev's "Cenerentola" and Britten's "The Prodigal Son."
