Katy Perry, one of the most popular singers today, confessed to Billboard magazine that she found it very difficult to get over her divorce from Russell Brand, and even led her to think about committing suicide.
The lovely 28-year-old California singer told Billboard that all the songs in her next album, "Prism", are highly autobiographical, especially the song "By The Grace Of God", a song she said reflects on the difficult situation in which she found herself after the divorce filed by Russell Brand in 2011.
"That song is evident of how tough it really was at a certain point. I asked myself, 'Do I want to endure? Should I continue living?'", revealed the singer, quoted by People en Español magazine on its website.
Perry remembered being on the floor of her bathroom, asking herself if she could go on, after finding out that her husband had filed for divorce.
"All the songs are real-life moments. I can only write autobiographically. I put all the evidence in the music. I tell my fans if they want to know the real truth about stuff, just listen to the songs", said the pop star.
The interview, which can be read on Billboard's website, the "Roar" singer revealed that another song from her new album coming out Oct. 22, "Ghost," is about the moment when her ex- divorced her through a text message on Dec. 31, 2011.
Perry and Brand were married for 14 months, after which the comedian unexpectedly decided to end the marriage and, in Perry's words, she never saw him again.
However, Perry managed to recover from this bitter experience and currently is in a relationship with music superstar John Mayer.
