Owners of the popular HTC Droid DNA smartphone have been waiting patiently for quite some time now for a new Android update, and if one HTC executive is correct, the wait won't be too much longer.
As of now, the Droid DNA is scheduled to receive Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and a bump to Sense 5 or higher by the end of the year.
Regarding Droid DNA. Update and clarification is that DNA customers will get new Sense experiences (w/ 4.2.2) before end of year.

This isn't the first we've heard of this update. A Verizon support page (now a broken link) detailing an upcoming software upgrade for the Droid DNA was discovered earlier in September.
"Verizon Wireless is pleased to announce enhancements to HTC Sense 5 that will improve the performance of your DROID DNA smartphone," read the support page.
It's not yet clear which version of Sense is slated for the Droid DNA. Sense 5.5 is the newest version, but is mostly expected to roll out to newer devices, such as the HTC One. It could land on the Droid DNA as well, but there is a slight chance HTC chooses to push out Android 4.2.2 with Sense 5 instead of Android 4.2.2 with Sense 5.5 when the time comes.
Speaking of when the update could arrive, there's no specific release date. Mackenzie's tweet of "by the end of the year" is all Droid DNA fans have to go on at the moment, but expect HTC to divulge more information as it wraps up upgrading its more popular flagship, the HTC One. Verizon will most likely lag, and Droid DNAs on Big Red should not expect to receive the update at the same time as others.
