PlayStation Plus owners get a wide variety of free games to play as part of the benefits of using the premium online service, and now the free games for the month of October have been revealed for the program. Five games will be available for users during the month, and IGN is the first to preview which games will be free for PlayStation Plus owners.
The highlight of the free games available to users is Shadow of the Colossus, the masterpiece created by Team Ico originally for the PlayStation 2. This, combined with letting players download and play the game for free in October, should help the game gather many new fans. The previous month the first Team Ico game, simply called Ico, was a selection for PlayStation Plus owners to play for free as well.
Another big title available for PlayStation Plus owners will be Hotline Miami. This retro style game will be available on both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, and will bring an arcade style game for players overwhelmed by Grand Theft Auto 5 and are looking for a top down 2D crime drama should download the game and enjoy the chaos.
A fun game for cartoon fans as well as poker fanatics that will be free on PlayStation Plus is Poker Night 2. The game has a variety of iconic characters from a variety of cartoons and video games, including Brock Sampson from The Venture Bros and Claptrap from the Borderlands series. Throw in some pretty solid online poker action and it is a good way to spend an evening or two, especially if friends are involved.
The final two games available for free in October are the PlayStation 3 game Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning and the Vita game Sine Mora. Both games are pretty solid games for players to check out, and are worth checking out for those looking to explore lesser known titles.
