“Castle” is back and in full swing. The premiere proved that Beckett’s love for Castle is real, although is ended on a rather daunting note as Castle unknowingly ingested alarming amounts of poison gas. But the show couldn't go on without Castle. After all, it’s him the show’s named after.
Since it’s safe to assume that Castle will survive, fans are more concerned with how long Becket will be in D.C. as a fed, away from her beloved fiance. But not to worry. According to TVLine, Beckett soon enough has cause to come back to New York when a high-profile case that Ryan and Espoito are working attracts the Feds. In fact, the instant that Castle hops on board, “Beckett and McCord come in and take over the case,” showrunner Andrew W. Marlowe said. “So now it’s the boys against the girls. And Castle’s caught in the middle.”
In addition to her relationship problems, Beckett will also have a tough time adapting to her new life in D.C. "She's really excited and challenged by the opportunity, but I think there are elements of the opportunity that aren't what she expected," said Laura Edelstein, who plays Beckett’s new partner McCord on the show. "Those create a lot of confusion for her. This particular type of career requires secrecy, and secrecy doesn't survive relationships well.”
As for the big looming question, concerning a Beckett Castle wedding, Marlowe can’t promise anything, but admits that there will plenty of planning throughout Season 6. Perhaps a wedding finale is in order?
"Castle" airs on Mondays at 10 p.m. on ABC.
