The power of Google gets stronger as its Google Earth product might have helped locate two sites where pyramids might have once stood.

According to Google Earth Anomalies, one of the sites features an indent of a four-sided pyramidal shape that is approximately 140 feet wide. Next to the shape are smaller embankments similar to the alignment of the Giza Plateau pyramids.

The second site features four larger, triangular shaped plateaus approximately 250 feet in width. The second site is just about 90 miles away from the first site. One of the sites is also reported to be 12 miles from Abu Sidum, the city where other Egyptian pyramids are located.

The discovery of the two sites is credited to Angela Micol of North Carolina. Micol has been conducting satellite archaeology research for the past ten years using Google Earth.

The sites have been verified as undiscovered territory by Egyptologist and pyramid expert Nabil Selim. According to Selim, the small embankments are similar in size as the 13th Dynasty Egyptian pyramids.

According to Micol, her discoveries are currently under further investigation by other researchers.

"The images speak for themselves," said Micol. "It's very obvious what the sites may contain but field research is needed to verify they are, in fact, pyramids and evidence should be gathered to determine their origins. It is my hunch there is much more to these sites and with the use of Infrared imagery, we can see the extent of the proposed complexes in greater detail."

If proven accurate, it will not be Micol's first discovery while using Google Earth. She previously reported to have found a "potential underwater city" off the coast of the Yucatan peninsula.
