Good news Samsung Galaxy S3 owners: we now have a more specific release time frame for the highly-anticipated Android 4.3 update. The latest intel indicates that the Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 update should begin rolling out at the end of October.

Website SamMobile, well known for its Samusng-related firmware leaks, has just put out a report stating their sources have revealed Samsung has officially started testing Android 4.3 for the Samsung Galaxy S3. SamMobile then goes on to say that the Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 update is "expected to be released around October end / November."

SamMobile also states that testing is underway for the Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 and Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 update. Apparently, Samsung will want to give the newer Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 handsets some time on the market with the newer Android 4.3 before releasing it for older models, thus ensuring a few more holiday sales on the more expensive, newer devices. The Galaxy S4 is rumored to get Android 4.3 first in early October (explaining the late October / early November Galaxy S3 estimate).

Samsung is also reportedly testing out Android 4.3 for the Galaxy Mega series.

Android 4.3 won't be bringing much change to the Android OS, with most of the improvements made under the hood, but it will be the first major update for Galaxy S3 owners in a long time. The popular 2012 flagship device was expected to get Android 4.2.2 during the summer, but Samsung officially announced in early September that it had scrapped Android 4.2.2 for the handset and was instead focused on getting Android 4.3 out by October.
