Bayern Munich and Hannover 96 will face off in the DFB Pokal on Wednesday.

The reigning European champions are coming off a 4-0 win against Schalke this weekend, a performance that Coach Pepe Guardiola calls the best of his short tenure with the club.

"That was our best Bundesliga performance of the season so far," said Guardiola, according to ESPN. "We totally dominated one of the strongest teams in Germany."

The match featured the return of midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, who concurred about his team's play in the match.

"We took it very seriously from the start, our mentality was right. We were determined to take all three points," said Schweinsteiger. "It's not easy to come here and win, so we're doubly delighted about doing just that. We were definitely very good at times."

Munich has had a plethora of good news this week, including reports that Borussia forward Robert Lewandowski is expected to join the club during the January transfer window. Not only would that midseason acquisition boost Munich's chances of winning this year's Bundesliga title, but it also helps the club in its hopes of reclaiming the Champions League title.

Hannover currently sits fourth in the Bundesliga with 12 points.

Munich and Hannover met on Sept. 14 in a 2-0 win for Munich that featured goals from Mario Mandzukic and Frank Ribery.

Prediction: Munich is the best team in the world right now and should have no trouble pulling off a 1-0 win on Wednesday.

Start Time: 2:30 p.m. EST
