“Suits” fans must be miserable. The series is currently in its mid season break, and of course, everything at the firm is in chaos. Harvey has decided to pursue a real romance with Scottie, casting a confused Donna aside. The development could be detrimental to their relationship, which in turn could take a serious toll on their work, putting the firm in jeopardy.
Fans are eager to see how the new romance, along with all the problems it poses, will play out. Unfortunately, they’ll have to wait until the mid season hiatus comes to a close this winter. But not all is lost. Executive producer Aaron Korsh was kind enough to share some insight on the future of Harvey and Donna’s dicey relationship, and it may not be what fans expected.
“Donna, regardless of what her feelings may or may not be about Harvey and Scottie, cares about Harvey," he said. “She wants him to be happy and is going to try and help him in this relationship like she did last year in [Episode] 216. That’s what’s going on for them in these last six."
"I think both Harvey and Donna might be surprised by what it brings up for them, the issues in their relationship that they need to address and ultimately that they are incredibly loyal to each other and have a really solid foundation," said Sarah Rafferty, who plays Donna on the show.
The actress also commented on how the remaining episodes will tie up the ample loose ends that remain in the third season. In terms of Harvey and Donna's relationship in particular, "it should be dragged out, our knowledge of them, of why they are the way they are, right? You should not be able to figure it out for a long time. Also, I think they're two complicated people who don't know themselves."
“Suits” will return to USA Network in the winter.
