The Emmy Awards, like the Oscars and Tonys, is always peppered with poignant and hilarious moments that are shown over and over on network news channels the following Monday. The 65th Emmy Awards on Sunday is sure to produce memorable moments that will be instantly shared on countless Facebook walls.

In preparation for the Emmys, we're counting down the top 5 best moments from past Emmys. Here are the top 5 moments, in no particular order:

1. Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy, 2011

When the nominees for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy were introduced at the 2011 Emmys, nominee Amy Poehler ran up to the stage when her name was announced, even though she was just being announced as a nominee in the category, not a winner. The rest of the nominees followed suit and held hands on stage while waiting to hear the winner, beauty pageant style. When Melissa McCarthy won for her work on Mike & Molly, she received hilarious "Miss America" special treatment.

2. Best Reality TV Series Presenters, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, 2006

When Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert came out to present the Emmy for best reality series, the audience knew they were in for a hysterical couple of minutes. In true Colbert form, he called the audience "godless sodomites" and decried Hollywood as morally bankrupt. As the hilarious banter continued, it was finally revealed why Colbert was so upset. (Hint: It was for a more selfish (and funny) reason.)

3. Ricky Gervais takes his Emmy back, 2008

Ricky Gervais was not able to attend the 2008 Emmys, so Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert pretended to give it to their long-time friend, Steven Carell. While presenting at the 2008 Emmys, Gervais decides to get his Emmy back from Carell by any means possible.

4. Lily is a Monster, "Modern Family" short 2012

"Modern Family" presented a hilarious short during the 2012 Emmys exposing the malevolence of the six-year-old girl who plays Lily on the series, Aubrey Anderson-Emmons. The cast said that she is a "monster," and proceeded to show Aubrey hurling hilarious insults to the cast members and playing cruel jokes.

5. Conan O'Brien's Emmy Intro, 2006

Late night funny man Conan O'Brien had the audience in hysterics with his opening skit for the 2006 Emmys. The skit showed Conan popping into many of the most popular shows of the time, including "Lost," "The Office" and even "To Catch a Predator" in an effort to find his way to the Emmys. Conan's skit is among the best Emmy intros in the award show's history.
