The trailer and poster to Denis Villeneuve's new film "Enemy" have been released.

The new film, based on Jose Saramago's acclaimed novel, tells the story of a man who seeks out his exact look-alike after spotting him in a movie.

The film had its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival where it was acquired by distributor A24. The film also scored rave reviews with the Hollywood Reporter stating, "As hauntingly strange as it is inconclusive and frustrating, 'Enemy,' directed by Denis Villeneuve ('Incendies'), is one of the more head-scratching additions to the doppelganger genre. Yet it will certainly have its fans."

David Ehrlich of Film.com also gave the movie a favorable review and said, "Might have the scariest ending of any film ever made."

Rodrigo Perez of the Playlist gave the movie an A and wrote, "Thick with weighty themes, disquieting portent and anxious tension, Villeneuve...crafts a gripping slow burn portrait of the male id/ego, our self-destructive tendencies and how they control us."

Anthony Kaufman of Screen International wrote, "A slow-burning metaphysical thriller that stays one step ahead of its audience."

The new film sees Villeneuve ("Incendies") reuniting with his "Prisoners" actor Jake Gyllenhaal who plays a double role in the film. The movie also stars Sara Gadon, Melanie Laurent and Isabella Rossellini. A24 plans on releasing the film in early 2014.

Villeneuve's "Prisoners" is currently in theaters and also stars Hugh Jackman, Maria Bello, Melissa Leo, Viola Davis, Paul Dano and Terrence Howard.
